More and more shirts are now being made with cufflink holes instead of buttons, and a good selection of fashionable cufflinks should be part of any fashion-conscious man’s wardrobe. And the good news is that you don’t need to spend a fortune on cufflinks to look expensively turned out.

The fashion trend in cufflinks allows a bloke to show a little more daring even if he’s wearing a conservative suit and tie. So for under £20 you can find a practically unlimited range of bright enamelled designs from imitation road signs to your initials or your county emblem.

Being from Yorkshire, my Dan has a great pair of enamelled cufflinks showing the White Rose, and recently I kindly presented him with a pair showing the Red Rose to make it clear that he lives in Lancashire now! They look very classy and make quite a talking point.

Moulded cufflinks are available in a variety of fun shapes, from K9 off Dr Who to knots, handcuffs and guitars. Or if you prefer there’s mother of pearl, onyx, stainless steel in any number of designs, right up to silver and gold cufflinks – though these are of course a little more pricey.

So look around and find some fashion cufflinks to express your personality. Go on – be daring.
