With the warmer weather still around (although less sunshine than I need to keep up my tan) one of my top men’s fashion tips is linen shirts.

Here in Manchester, to my mind the style capital of the North, all the well-dressed men are wearing linen for its breathability and excellent moisture management properties. My own preference is to combine it with cotton, and that way you also get a luxurious soft feel to the shirt.

For daytime wear in the warmer weather, collarless shirts are that bit different, and show that the man who wears them has just the right degree of laissez-faire. Jeans or linen slacks would complement a collarless shirt for the complete image.

While for an evening out and about, a pastel shade of cotton/linen blend with a collar shows the wearer as a man of sophistication. A tie is optional, though makes a difference for that special occasion.

And just as important, he’ll be supremely comfortable, however sticky the weather gets with the soft feel provided by the cotton and moisture management taken care of by the linen content of the fabric.
