wellies Hunter Boots

Girls get all the fun shoes don’t they? Ugg boots, flip flops, strappy heels and multicoloured, fashion wellies. And it’s these wellies that my fashion blog is most interested in.
They can go out splashing through puddles, looking fashionable and colourful, but when I look for boots, what are my options? Well men’s Wellington boots are available in green or, er, black!

I’m exaggerating as, to be fair, Hunter Boots have made a half-hearted attempt at offering an extra colour or two for men, but to me it’s more of an afterthought than an attempt to make men’s wellies a fashion item..

So I’ve had an idea for my fashion blog: A campaign for fashionable men’s wellies. Yep - men’s designer wellies where you don’t feel like an eccentric artist when you’re wearing them.

I’m not talking about girls’ wellies made a few sizes bigger, and certainly not pink and flowery. I’m talking about individual designs for men. I don’t know how you’d do it, but how about black and white stripes? Subtle colours like blended shades of blue or brown? Something that’s not just a single block colour. The girls have had it their way for too long, while we’ve got the choice between wet feet or drab boots.

There must be a way that men’s wellies can be fashionable without being dull. What do you think? – comment on this fashion blog with any ideas you’ve got, or has some bright spark invented them already?
