I’ve been searching for a parka that fits for years. For some reason they’re always massive and I’ve just been swamped by them. Now I’m not tiny, like a miniature man or anything, but around this time every Christmas I’ll wander round men’s fashion shops trying on the winter jackets and parkas - and not find one.
I’ve been doing this since the 90s, when parkas were seriously cool, and even though they’re a bit questionable now I still want a SMALL parka, not one that drags on the floor.
I once found my dream winter jacket - it was a parka in 2003, made by Paul Smith. It fit perfectly but cost over £600. Obviously this is a stupid amount to pay for a winter jacket, especially for a parka, so I left it, and I’ve never found another one since.
So what men’s fashion advice can I give you about winter jackets? Here’s the moral of the story - Buy the Paul Smith one you saw and you really liked in 2003. It’s expensive but it’ll save you time in the long run. I sound like a girl talking about her favourite shoes now don’t I!
